Description
Texts by Erik Satie, translated Emily Doolittle, Commissioned by the Nova Scotia Arts Council for Janice Jackson and Eve Egoyan (Halifax/Toronto); broadcast by CBC. Child's Play was commissioned by Janice Jackson and Eve Egoyan to go with a program of cabaret songs by Erik Satie. The texts are taken from Satie's piano works 'Petit PreÌlude aÌ€ la journeÌe' and 'Marche du Grand Escalier' from Enfantillages Pittoresques (1913), and 'Le porteur de grosses pierres' from Chapitres Tournes en Tous Sens (1913). The translations are my own.
