Description
One of the great strengths of the Christian-Jewish tradition is that one may quarrel with one’s God. What role does the fear of God play? The music supports the colorfulness and the many contradictions of the text, pushing it to the top, not without a sense of irony and comedy with all the inconsistencies between accusation and getting along with everything. It is only in the end that the music confesses to the promise that God will bring forth what is persecuted – a promise of a justice that will endure all the turmoil of life.
