Description: The Core Kit takes a different approach to getting incredible sounding drums in your productions. Most other libraries try to pack a ton of drums into one nice and neat plug-in, along with an internal mixer and fx-unit that has outputs sent to 2 channels or more on your DAW. That is nice for getting things going quickly; however, it tends to result in a kind of “canned” or fake sound. In a real world recording session with real drums, each drum gets its own channel on the DAW with each channel having its own set of plug-ins and sends, etc.
Most engineers like having their drums set up this way, as most any DAW has better plug-ins and routing capability than any stand alone sampler. While we have a robust interface, it is tailored to manipulating individual instruments, rather than whole drum kits. We feel the DAW is where the“real”mixing happens and we have made every effort to produce instruments that deserve their own channel! Of course, many of the instruments in the Core Kit have multiple mic channels and our “Mix” page is where these channels can be processed right inside Kontakt! We believe this is the best use of two powerful tools. Individual mic channel adjustment of level, pan, EQ, compression, and reverb sends are all handled by Kontakt on the instrument level and the DAW is used to mix the instruments into the track. This way your DAW looks a lot less cluttered than it would if you were doing a live drum mix. Additionally, because the instruments are focused on one sound rather than whole kits, this gives the user a deep sound editing ability within an elegant and easy to use interface.
